Mission/Values

The SHOW Center Mission

The Sexual Health Optimization and Wellness (SHOW) Center’s mission is to offer holistic, evidenced-based  approaches that educate, treat, and cultivate each woman’s needs for mental, emotional and physical well-being. We work with our patients to create an integrative healthcare plan that is authentic to your individualized concerns.

The SHOW Center was founded by Dr. Heather Quaile DNP, WHNP-BC, SANE  in 2019 with a vision to create a center using a biopsychosocial model of care to treat and manage peri/menopausal issues from hot flashes, fatigue, irritability, weight gain, and vaginal dryness as well as the effects these have on whole women’s wellness.  We also evaluate and do a 360 degree view of women’s specific primary care concerns, sexual health concerns, sexuality after cancer, sex after baby, and sexual trauma. We partner with pelvic floor physical therapists, sex therapists, and other complimentary, inclusive care services.

The SHOW Center Values

The patient-provider relationship is sacred and everyone is on a different journey.  Our goal is to partner with you wherever you are to help you reach your health goals.

Integrity: We continually strive for quality improvement to assure patient safety, the best possible clinical outcomes, and collaboration with the area’s most respected professionals for a team-based patient, centric approach to care. Treatment should be  evidence-based, innovative, and patient centered.

Empowerment: Why do we focus on sexual health? With 43% of women and 31% of men in the United States with a sexual health concern, it is important to recognize and validate the importance of sexual wellness to your overall health. the majority of sexual health concerns are treatable and our goal is to help you to live a  full, healthy, and prosperous life.

Biopsychosocial approach:  An approach that integrates multiple facets of sexuality and wellness to provide a holistic, multifocal view of each individual using a multi-disciplinary team approach. You will have the opportunity to be evaluated by our sexual medicine provider, pelvic health physical therapist, and sex therapist in order to look at the whole picture of your sexual health concern.

Trauma-informed: A trauma-informed approach to care acknowledges that health care providers need to have a complete picture of a patient’s life situation — past and present — in order to provide effective health care services. Our practice promotes a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing.

Respect: Each patient is looked at in their entirety and they are seen as a diverse, unique and will be approached with an individualized plan of care. All patients deserve to be treated with dignity and an acknowledgment of their value as individuals and within a culture of respect; individuals perform better, are more innovative, and display greater resilience.

Empathy: We try and develop a deeper relationship with our patients to understand what they are experiencing from within their frame of reference. By doing this we commit to being thorough but not judgmental and meeting the patient where they are in their healthcare discovery.

LGBTQA+ inclusive: Often, LGBTQIA+ people are afraid to disclose their sexual health practices to a healthcare provider for fear of being shamed, ridiculed, and pathologized. At The SHOW Center we have providers that understand the sexual health concerns and needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our center is here to serve all and we create a safe space where you are seen, valued and heard.
