Hormone Health

Our focus at The SHOW Center is on education and practical application of biopsychosocial approaches to health and wellness. This approach to care is very personalized and it is not a one-size-fits-all paradigm.

Most of our patients come to us for peri/menopause, metabolic, and sexual health health concerns and as we start to unravel the puzzle we realize that patients often have other conditions that are leading to some of their issues. We spend a great deal of time with patients understanding the root cause of their condition.

Hormone Management and Menopause

Menopause care is the category of gynecology that tackles issues related to the permanent end of your menstrual cycle. You have reached menopause after you have gone 12 consecutive months without a period. However, leading up to that time, your body goes through extensive hormone fluctuations as your ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesterone.  These hormones are responsible for helping things run smoothly in several different ways. Even small fluctuations can cause various symptoms, so there is no surprise that many women experience intense symptoms as they approach peri/menopause and for some time after they get there. These symptoms may be present 5-10 years prior to actual menopause.

Most women know when something is off but find very few answers. At The SHOW Center we listen and work to get to the root of these imbalances. We combine a conventional medical approach with alternative therapies to get you back on track. We evaluate you and may offer a hormone blood test if we believe your symptoms to be from peri/menopause-related hormone changes.  We have a detail discussion and will often recommend treatment options to women who have severe and disruptive menopause symptoms.  Treatment may be necessary if you experience peri/menopause-related symptoms that cause major inconveniences in your life, like disrupting your sleep, relationships, or productivity. Peri/menopause can impact your sexual health and wellness too.

You might benefit from treatment if you experience:

  • Hot Flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Mood swings
  • Insomnia
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Thinning hair
  • Dry skin
  • Brittle bones
  • Brain Fog
  • Low Sexual Desire

We deal with looking for the root cause of conditions and fixing imbalances and dysfunction. We aim to restore the body to optimal functioning and not to just treat symptoms but find the reason for illness and address that.

What does peri/menopause symptom management involve?

Peri/menopause management can involve a few different approaches to symptom management, depending on your personal needs and goals. After your initial consultation, Dr. Quaile might recommend:

Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT)

Menopause hormone therapy provides you with the estrogen and/or progesterone you need to alleviate the symptoms that come with the loss of hormones.

How do I begin?

The first step in the journey to healing the body is to realize whatever issues you are dealing with now are treatable and can be improved. We will work through this together. You need to embrace self-love and accept yourself and your body for who you are and how it functions.
